Gimme Some REAL FOOD!!!

It's no surprise that my "full figured" baby took to the bowl and spoon like he's been doing it for years. Of course, the first few bites were a bit messy, but once he got the hang of it I couldn't shovel it in fast enough.

I had forgotten how much fun it is to introduce your child to the wonderful world of taste! Our lives really do revolve around food and I love to be able to give him his first experience.

We've just tried rice cereal for a couple days, so I think tonight we'll be giving sweet potatoes a whirl.

And of course big bro had to be right by his side!

4 Months

  • You are a LOAD my little Man Man! You are breakin' my back and I can thank you for my now toned arms!
  • Your hair is definitely red and you are starting to lose that little "mudflap" in the back.
  • You are sleeping great at night. Usually down by 7 and wake up b/w 6:30 and 7:30 and I can't thank you enough for that! I finally feel rested!
  • You eat 6 ounces every 3 hours and we are starting rice cereal in a bowl tonight. I know you are going to LOVE real food!
  • Your daytime naps have not been that great lately. You still nap, but more like 45 min to an hour here and there instead of one long one in the afternoon. I HOPE you don't make this a pattern.
  • You love the Excersaucer now and the Bumbo. I've also tried you in the Johnny Jump Up and you like it too.
  • Henry continues to be your biggest source of pleasure. He can get the biggest laughs and smiles out of you and I think the feeling is mutual. He loves you so much and is so protective of you!
  • You are babbling all the time now and starting to really squeal a lot. So so cute!
  • You have been out of the swaddle for a few weeks now and I think you really like the freedom. Your Mimi is very glad about this! She thought you looked like you were in a straight jacket and she's glad you're finally FREE!
  • Still not rolling over yet, but you are starting to roll to your side.
  • I can sit you up on my bed and you'll stay there for about 5 seconds before you topple over. It won't be long!
  • You love bath time and so do I. The smell of a clean baby is the best in the world.
  • Speaking of baby smells, your baby breath is the finest of fragrances. If I could bottle it up I would!
  • There aren't enough words to explain how precious you are to me. I love every single inch of you more than you will ever know!

4 Month Checkup

We went this morning for Manning's 4 month well check. He did great and is right on target developmentally. He had 3 shots and 1 oral vaccine and took 'em like a man ;) Below are his stats:

  • Weight : 17 lbs and 10 oz (95th percentile)
  • Height : 26"2 inches (95th percentile)
  • Head : 17"4 inches (90th percentile)
Dr. T said that Henry better watch out b/c his little brother is going to be beatin' up on him when he grows up!

Nana and Papa's and 1st Sleepover

The boys and I headed to G'ville for the weekend to spend some quality time with Nana and Papa. And quality is was! We relaxed, ate some amazing food at home, played with the babes, hung with our cousins and aunts and uncles, and even got to meet O-Dogg's new girlfriend. We approve for sure!!!

And as a bonus, Henry got to have his first spend the night party with his cousin and friend, Bradley. Sarah and Brad braved this wild time and really made his first experience so much fun! I have heard nothing but fun stuff that they did and I'm sure the Lucas' are worn out after that night. But, I can't thank them enough for taking good care of our boy!

Meanwhile back at the "ranch" Little Man got some good spoilin' in from Nana and Papa. Above you can see the chunky prince himself getting a nice bath in the sink before bedtime!

It really was such a nice and relaxing time and we can't thank you enough! We love you and can't wait to see you in a couple weeks!

Manning and Cade

Manning has a new little buddy named Cade. His mama Christen and I have been walking once a week since May, but this is the first time they have gotten to hang out not confined to the stroller. They came over for lunch on Thursday and stayed for the afternoon and we all had so much fun.

Manning seems to be teething these days and poor little Cade's arm was the victim of his relief!

We put them down for some "tummy time" so they could check each other out face to face. I think they like each other ;)

These boys will more than likely be in the same class at Westminster in a couple years and we're so glad to have some new friends!

Wild Imagination!

Today he's "Robin" or "Spiderman".
Yesterday he was "Batman" and his little bro was "Robin".
Tomorrow he'll probably be Darth Vader.
He loves to don his CAPE and other superhero accessories these days and let his imagination run wild!
