A Charleston Christmas Sunset

Who needs a white Christmas when you've got a sunset like this? These beauts were taken from the Earnsts yard on my new camera on the Sunset Setting. Pretty sweet, huh? It had been raining hard all day and just around 5:15 the sun came out and it was gorgeous!

Merry Christmas!

I am just now getting around to doing our Christmas post and this year it will be rather weak on pictures. We got a new camera for Christmas and I LOVE IT! However, we didn't get it until Christmas day so most of the Christmas Eve and Morning pics are on Frankie's old camera. I shall retrieve those soon, but for now i'm loving playing with my new toy.

We got an Olympus Stylus Tough-6000 and believe it or not, it is water and break resistant! PERFECT for this family! You can literally throw it in a swimming pool and it will survive. I will not be testing this, but good to know just in case. We spend a lot at the beach and around water and this will be great peace of mind!

Don't Talk Old!

So, Henry has started saying something really funny when he doesn't like something I (or anybody) is saying. He will go "Don't talk old!" He is very serious and means it from the bottom of his heart. I have NO IDEA where this comes from or how someone might talk old, but he has picked it up somewhere. And it CRACKS me up! I have to literally turn my head away and laugh.
He also told me the other day that I was old and mean when I wouldn't let him do something. WHAT?!?! I try not to be mean and I am CERTAINLY not old!!!

25 Weeks

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

I had my 25 week checkup today and everything is looking good. I am measuring 26 weeks and have started packing on the LBs! The baby's heart rate was 146 and has been in the 145-148 range the whole pregnancy. I still feel great and have good energy, but am definitely starting to have the small aches and pains that come along with the extra pounds. I have started grunting a lot when I roll over or try and get out of bed. Brad LOVES it, let me tell ya! I have also started my usual 8-10 trips to the bathroom per day. I can't see my toes now and shaving my legs is becoming rather like doing a yoga pose. But, all in all, I am so lucky to be feeling so good.

Breakfast with Santa

Despite mine and Henry's nasty cold, Christine and I took Henry and Olivia to have
Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus at John Wesley United Methodist. It was so well organized and the children had so much fun. We got there at 9:00 and had a yummy breakfast of pancakes, breakfast casserole, sausage biscuits, and grits. Then we stood in line to sit on Santa's lap! Henry had forgotten to tell Santa that he wanted a dinosaur last week, so this was his chance! We did a few crafts and then they got their faces painted like Rudolph!

Poor Henry looks like he's been in a fight with all the splotches on his face and the snot running down his nose. Hopefully these colds will pass soon!

Potty Trained!!!!

Well, folks, I think it's safe to say that my boy is potty trained! After MUCH trial and error for several months, Henry just woke up 3 Saturday's ago and decided that that was the day. He has had a total of 4 tee tee accidents since then and I couldn't be happier! I think that's pretty good considering how hard he plays. When I say that potty training was my least favorite part of parenting so far, that is a total understatement! I HATED every minute, but alls well that ends well. We have one happy and independent little boy and a very proud Mama and Daddy.

Several more experienced moms had told me that no amount of pleading, begging, or bribing could make your child decide to do it. They have to decide on their own and boy were they right! He just decided the time was right and hasn't looked back since! Thank God!!!

Christmas Card Outtakes

I just have not gotten it together this year to do professional pictures for Christmas Cards, so I thought I would try a little "At Home Studio". Well, my TOTAL lack of photography skills combined with my TOTALLY uninterested model made for a slight disaster! I thought it would be rather cute in front of the tree with my FAVORITE pajamas of his. I mean, he kinda looks like an old man in these and I love it!
So, enjoy some of the outtakes from our little photo shoot!

You'll just have to wait and see which one I choose!

Holiday Festival of Lights

The three of us visited the much anticipated Holiday Festival of Lights tonight. Henry was so excited to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas and he was sure to let him know he has been a good boy. He wasn't shy at all, but very pensive as he crawled in Santa's "wap". He sort of whispered in his ear...so cute!

We waited in line to ride the train around the park to see all of the cool lights. It was freezing, so we bundled up! This is one of the biggest light festivals in the South East and I am amazed every year at how much work must go into pulling this off.

And last, we roasted marsh mellows around a fire and Henry got his first taste of this gooey treat!

He decided he likes the "pwain" ones better than the burnt!

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!

After I got home from a VERY relaxing girls night in Columbia we (read: I) decorated our Christmas Tree! We got such a great tree this year and I had so much fun bringing out all our ornaments. Henry got up from his nap just in time to help me put the last few ornaments on. If you look really closely, you'll see that our frisky little elf decided to help with a little decorating of his own.

Seems as though he caught himself just in time and is hanging on for dear life. But, not before he showered our tree with a handful of candy canes. Not really my style Johnson, but glad you're getting into decking our halls this year! Henry's gonna get a kick outta this in the morning!

The Christmas Spirit is really building round these parts!
We are all so excited!!!
